How to Prepare for Your Boudoir Session (From Your Photographer)
Preparing for your boudoir session doesn’t require perfection.
It requires intention.
The way you show up — rested, nourished, and relaxed — affects how the experience feels and how your images turn out.
Here’s what actually matters before your session.
Skin Prep
Preparing for your boudoir session doesn’t require perfection.
It requires intention.
The way you show up — rested, nourished, and relaxed — affects how the experience feels and how your images turn out.
Here’s what actually matters before your session.
Tan and nails
Avoid fresh sun exposure that could create uneven lines. If you prefer a spray tan, schedule it 2–3 days prior.
Hands are featured more than most people realize. Neutral or polished tones photograph beautifully.
Hair Preparation
Freshly washed hair the day before (or morning of) works best for styling. If you’re scheduling a color refresh, do it about a week prior.
Keep everything natural to you. The goal is elevated — not unfamiliar.
Nourish Your Body
Eat normally. Hydrate. Choose foods that keep your energy steady.
You’ll move, pose, and hold positions throughout the session — feeling strong matters far more than feeling empty.
Beauty Rest
Rest
Prioritize sleep the night before. Rested energy reads on camera — especially in your eyes.
